Zarautz is one of Spain’s most beautiful surfing locations with steady waves. The sandy beach stretches out over 2 kilometers and counts several sandbanks which makes it an ideal spot for both beginning and experienced surfers. You can stroll on the boardwalk, and whether you have a drink on one of the cozy terraces, sit on a bench overlooking the beach, or enjoy an ice-cream or a hamburger in one of the many restaurants, you will always be able to watch the surfers showing their tricks. Zarautz is obviously the European surf mecca par excellence!
But the center of town has also a lot to offer! Discover one of the many tapas bars and enjoy its amazing pintxos, leave the cerveza once for what it is and try instead a sidra or txakoli, or go loose in one of the surf shops and give yourself a complete surf makeover!
Zarautz is the ideal base camp for anyone who likes to broaden his horizons. This small town located in the heart of the Basque Country, offers lots of opportunities for nature and culture lovers, but also for shopping addicts and party animals. The public transport connects the cities with the surrounding villages. So, if one day you get up in the morning with a magnificent view on a … totally flat ocean… No problem! Take a day off and visit the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, go shopping in San Sebastian and end the evening with a lovely dinner in one of the asadores of Getaria.

LOCAL SURF SPOTS
Zarautz is one of Spain’s most beautiful surfing locations with steady waves. The sandy beach stretches out over 2 kilometers and counts several sandbanks which makes it an ideal spot for both beginning and experienced surfers. Zarautz is the European surf mecca par excellence!
We only use the best equipment and gear! You will be able to choose among a wide range of shortboards, mini malibus and softboards. Wetsuits and lycras are provided by O’Neill, the surf brand par excellence. You will also find bodyboards on the beach, and indoboards and slacklines within the camp to improve your technique on land. If you bring your own board, you can store it in a secured location on the camping area.
If you have never surfed before, it is recommended that you first follow some initiation lessons. All our surfing instructors are certified by the local authorities and have lifesaving qualifications. They are very experienced surfers who have been riding waves all over the world. For maximum effectiveness, we only use small-group methods.
Things to do in Zarautz
Yoga is the perfect workout to train you breathing, improve your flexibility, strengthen your surfing muscles and increase your core stability! These yoga classes do not focus on chakras and spirituality, but learn you how to gain control over your body and boost your flexibility, strength and balance.
CITY TRIP SAN SEBASTIAN
Besides the free activities… we also go on a citytrip to San Sebastian where you can go horse riding, attend a CrossFit training, play paintball, try SUP or spent all together a unique Basque Country evening drinking txotx and eating txuleta!
If this alternation between surfing and relaxation is still not enough for you and you really really want to go wild … you won’t be disappointed. Every week we organize some awesome parties: crazy fancy dress parties in the center of Zarautz, a free-flow boat party and a classy evening in the coolest club of San Sebastián: the legendary Bataplán.
Would you like to discover the city and explore the region by bike? Splendid idea! Every day, you take the easy way from the camp to the beach, but you will also find some challenging and breathtaking mountain bike trails in the surrounding area!
We also have long skates for rent. Longskating is quite similar to surfing, so it is the best possible way to train your skills on land. If you never tried longskating before, this is the ideal opportunity to try it out. Every week, we invite some experienced longskaters who will be glad to give you tips and show you some tricks.

Well-curated glamping with all inclusive experience. We were impressed with the comfort of the yurt-style tents and how immaculately designed the interiors were. It’s like a luxury hotel inside! Food was aromatic and well portioned. Equipment like surfboards, skateboards and bikes are all easy to access. Best part is the staff: Rosie and Eric were very kind to us all always in a bright mood each day. Thanks for the help!
